Administrative Mentorship Program

The Administrative Mentorship Program (AMP) has been designed to successfully familiarize you with the administrative functions of your position, including but not limited to: processing Purchase Orders, Payment Requisitions, Travel Requests, and personnel related documents in compliance with University of Hawaii (UH) and the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH) policies and procedures.

As a participant of the Administrative Mentorship Program, you will be assigned a mentor by the AMP Coordinator, Velina Sugiyama. Your mentor is responsible for introducing you to:

  • the Center on Disability Studies (CDS) staff,
  • locations of all University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) CDS staff offices,
  • the Fiscal Administrative Change Team,
  • and the Administrative Procedures Manual (APM).

In efforts to acclimate new employees to the administrative procedures enforced at CDS and University-wide, the Fiscal Administrative Change Team, comprised of 13 members has compiled an Administrative Procedures Manual, which delineates both UH and RCUH’s administrative procedures in a simple to follow, step-by-step process. Your mentor will also be responsible for your introduction to the Fiscal Administrative Change Team, which meets monthly or as needed. It is then determined at the discretion of your supervisor and yourself whether your participation is warranted at the FACT meetings.
