The Ulu Pono Project is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor (Agreement #CB-18240-09-60-A-15). This project is a partnership between the Center for Disability Studies and Kapi’olani Community College, University of Hawaii.
The Ulu Pono Project was awarded to train individual in the health sciences who were:
- Non-traditional adult learners
- Unemployed or underemployed
- Members of an underserved population
- Or incumbent workers seeking additional skills
These individuals were trained in one of the following health science professions:
- Pharmacy Technician
- Dental Assistant
- Medical Assistant
- Medical Billing and Coding
- Long Term Care Nurse Aide
We provide employment assistance to Ulu Pono Project participants.
