Research Design and Evaluation Services

Backed by 30 years of experience providing research and evaluation for government agencies, non-profit and academic organizations in the Pacific region, the CDS provides evaluation services in the areas of health, education, and human services.

We use formative and summative models to design and implement evaluation that examines the effectiveness of goals, outcomes, impacts, and cost-benefits. Formative evaluation examines ongoing processes that allow for feedback to support program modifications to meet goals and objectives. Summative evaluation examines overall program fidelity and effectiveness.

The CDS faculty and staff provide an interdisciplinary approach to design and implementation research and evaluation. Our faculty have expertise in conducting:

  • Evidence-based standards for research
  • External evaluation (We meet SAMSA requirements for External Evaluation)
  • Logic Model Development
  • Needs assessment
  • Process evaluation
  • Participatory evaluation
  • Presentations of data
  • Qualitative data analysis (NVivo, Atlas.ti, Dedoose, and similar applications)
  • Focus groups and interviews
  • Statistical analysis (SAS, SPSS, R Programming, Mplus and similar applications)
  • Survey design
  • Construct validation
  • SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis
