CDS Sponsors Workshop Series on Teaching All Students, Reaching All Learners
The Center for Teaching Excellence & Center on Disability Studies
As faculty and instructors we are constantly challenged by the diversity of the students in our classrooms. This series of workshops will provide tools for meeting the needs of students with a wide range of cultural backgrounds, learning styles, abilities, and experiences.
All workshops are offered on:
Thursdays from 12:00-1:30pm

For your convenience each event will be offered twice:
Universal Design for Learning (September 10 & October 22)
- Balancing rigor with the need for flexibility
- Diversifying instructional methods and materials
- Specific strategies to increase classroom inclusiveness.
Multiculturalism (September 24 & November 5)
- Recognizing the impact of diverse identities on students’ behavior
- Employing Cultural Brokering
Mentoring (October 8 & November 19)
- Strategies for nurturing students who face discrimination and isolation
- Providing real-life learning. Learning from our students
