CDS offers a new Professional Development Program for Educators using ACE
DIS 697: ACE for Educators of ELL (CRN 3622, Section 431, 1-6 credits)
This 15-week online course is a professional development program for current classroom educators in using ACE methods to assess and teach English Language Learners (ELL) in grades K-12. (ACE stands for Actual Community Empowerment.) This class requires your participation in one face-to-face meeting, monthly web-conferences, and weekly online discussions. You will also complete a case study implementing ACE methods in your K-12 classroom. You may choose to earn 1 to 6 credits, depending on the effort you can commit. Earning 3 credits in one semester requires at least a three-hour commitment weekly for optimal participation in readings, discussions, assignments, and other class activities. Please contact the instructor to discuss your options and the requirements.
