Center on Disability Studies Developing Disability Policy and Law Course through Collaborative Efforts

In a major new interdisciplinary initiative, the Hawaii CDS is jointly funding a position with the Political Science Department and the School of Law. A course will be developed on disability policy for the Political Science Department and a course on legal issues in disabilities for the School of Law. In addition, the recruited faculty member will be working within the Hawaii CDS, teaching courses leading to the Interdisciplinary Certificate in Disability and Diversity Studies. The purpose of this jointly funded position is to enhance the opportunities for individuals in a variety of disciplines across the University to become more familiar with the political and legal issues within the disability arena.
