Maternal and Child Health Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (MCH LEND) Interdisciplinary Training Program
- A leadership training program to address the need for producing leaders who can develop and implement the comprehensive, integrated and culturally appropriate health care systems of services for children with neurodevelopmental and related disorders and their families.
- Primary components include (a) interdisciplinary leadership training, (b) professional consultation and technical assistance to the Title V and other community health agencies, (c) continuing education activities, (d) research and program evaluation, (e) development and dissemination of educational resources, and (f) collaborative special projects.
- Within three to five years of training, many LEND students assume key leadership positions in the Hawai‘i Department of Health, Hawai‘i state agencies, or with private agencies.
