National Centers (Research, Education/Training/Technical Assistance, and Service)

The Center on Disability Studies receives federal funding from the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, United States Department of Health and Human Services, to operate a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). The major activities of the CDS program focus on improving the programs and services for persons with developmental disabilities and their families in Hawai‘i and the Pacific Basin through interdisciplinary training, research, technical assistance, dissemination, and community service. In addition to these activities, the CDS also houses six major centers.
