Manual Testing Incorporating Assistive Technologies
Web sites are tested using a number assistive technologies to insure that content is rendered in a meaningful way when parsed by a screen reader or other assistive technology. At CDS, we use Fisher Scientifics’ JAWS (http://www.freedomscientific.com/) screen reader to test online materials to insure that they conform to W3C standards. We also use the text-only browser Lynx (http://lynx.browser.org/) to insure that Web pages render properly when associated style sheets are unsupported.
