About the Center on Disability Studies

The Center on Disability Studies (CDS) is a University of Hawai‘i Board of Regents recognized Center focused upon development and
conduct of interdisciplinary education / training, research / demonstration and evaluation, and university and community service. CDS consists
of several focused Centers and Programs that reflect the mission and vision of the Center on Disability Studies:

  • Hawai‘i University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD)
  • Pacific Basin University Centers for Excellence in Education, Research, and Service for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities (PBUCE)
  • National Center for the Study of Postsecondary Educational Supports (NCSPES): A Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC)
  • National Center on Secondary Education and Transition (NCSET): A Collaborative National Technical Assistance Partnership with the University of Minnesota
